Stainless Steel 410 Pipe

Stainless Steel 410 Pipe Manufacturer, Supplier & Exporter in India — Nishra Overseas

Nishra Overseas is a leading Stainless Steel 410 Pipe manufacturer in India, and a dependable 410 Pipe supplier and exporter in India, serving turbine, pump and valve, and general mechanical-strength applications across domestic and international markets. Whether you're sourcing Stainless Steel 410 Pipe in India for a single project or for ongoing supply, our stock depth and manufacturing capability are built to support both.

410 is a fundamentally different kind of stainless steel from the 304/316-family grades most buyers start with: it's martensitic, not austenitic. That single distinction explains almost everything else about it. Because 410 is heat-treatable — it can be hardened by heating to around 1850°F (roughly 1010°C) and then quenching in air or oil — it delivers much higher strength, hardness, and wear resistance than austenitic grades. It's also magnetic in all conditions, unlike 304 or 316. What it trades away is corrosion resistance: with only 11.5–13.5% chromium and no molybdenum, 410 is meaningfully less corrosion-resistant than the austenitic grades, and isn't recommended for severe corrosive service.

Stainless Steel 410 pipe carries a minimum tensile strength of 480 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa, with a lower elongation (16% min) than austenitic grades — a direct consequence of its higher strength and hardness. It resists scaling up to about 1200°F (650°C) and is available as seamless pipe, ERW pipe, or electric fusion welded pipe, in sizes from ½" NB up to 24" NB in round form, and up to 100 NB for fusion-welded pipe. As a trusted Stainless Steel 410 Pipe manufacturer, supplier, and exporter in India, Nishra Overseas' goal is straightforward: deliver certified, high-quality 410 pipe and tube at fair, competitive pricing, backed by dependable stock availability.

Governing Standards

Because 410 is a martensitic (not austenitic) grade, it is governed by a different family of ASTM/ASME specifications than the 304/316-series grades:

  • ASTM A268 / ASME SA268 — Seamless and welded ferritic and martensitic stainless steel tubing, commonly used for 410 heat exchanger and general tubing applications.
  • ASTM A731 / ASME SA731 — Seamless, welded, and heavily cold-worked austenitic and ferritic/martensitic stainless steel pipe for general corrosive and high-temperature service.
  • ASTM A511 — Seamless stainless steel mechanical tubing, applicable to 410 in mechanical/structural use.
  • 410 bar, forging, and plate forms are additionally covered by ASTM A276, A473, and A240 respectively, relevant where pipe is fabricated from other stock forms.

Note: 410 pipe is not produced to ASTM A312, which specifically covers austenitic grades — a distinction worth confirming with your engineer or QA team before referencing a standard on a purchase order.

No molybdenum and comparatively low chromium versus the 300-series austenitic grades — this is the composition trade-off that gives 410 its strength and hardenability at the cost of corrosion resistance.

Packaging & Marking

Standard packaging uses wooden pallets or crates with waterproof paper and plastic wrapping, or seaworthy export packing for larger-diameter pipe, adjusted to match each client's requirements.

Every length of Nishra Overseas 410 pipe is marked along its full length with:

  • Nominal pipe size (NB)
  • Schedule / wall thickness
  • Governing specification and grade
  • Method of manufacture (seamless or welded)
  • Heat number
  • Manufacturer's name or symbol

Test Certification

  • Manufacturer's Test Certificate
  • IBR Test Certificate (Form III-D)
  • Laboratory Test Certificate from a government-approved lab
  • Third-party inspection certification, with excise gate pass where applicable for Modvat benefit

Applications

SS 410 pipe from Nishra Overseas is used across:

  • Steam and gas turbine components
  • Petroleum industry equipment
  • Pumps and valves
  • Springs, fasteners, brackets, and hardware
  • Scraper blades and wear-resistant components
  • Heat exchanger tube
  • Applications requiring mild resistance to acids, water, air, and food contact (electropolished condition)
  • Structurally strong general engineering applications where high corrosion resistance isn't the primary requirement

Because of its lower corrosion resistance relative to austenitic grades, 410 is not recommended for applications involving severe or sustained corrosive exposure — for those, our 304/316-family pages are the better fit.

Dimensions & Pressure Ratings

A note on pressure ratings for 410: Allowable-stress tables for austenitic grades (304/316-family) don't transfer directly to martensitic 410, since the two families behave differently at elevated temperature and are governed by different design standards. If this page is for a pressure-piping application, please confirm allowable stress values against ASME B31.3 (or the relevant design code) for grade 410 specifically, or speak with our technical team — don't reuse a 300-series pressure table for a 410 order. We'd recommend removing a generic pressure-rating table from this page rather than risk it being applied to the wrong grade; happy to help source the correct 410-specific allowable stress data if you need it published here.
