Raised Face (RF): The most often used form of flange in process plant applications, the Raised Face flange is simple to recognize. The reason it is called a raised face is that the gasket surfaces are elevated above the face of the bolting circle. A broad range of gasket designs, including metallic composites like spiral wound and double jacketed kinds, as well as flat ring sheet types, can be used with this face type. Oil and gas pipelines frequently use raised face flanges (RF flanges), which are easily identified by their gasket surface situated above the flange's bolting line. A variety of gaskets, including metallic and semi-metallic (jacketed and spiral wound) gaskets, as well as flat cut gaskets, are compatible with RF face flanges. Raised face flanges are primarily designed to increase the strength of the seal by concentrating the contact pressure on a small portion of the flange.According to ASME B16.5, the height of the raised surface is determined by the flange's rating. The elevated face height should be approximately 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) for pressure classes 150 and 300 and approximately 6.4 mm (1/4 inch) for classes 400 to 2500. The most common flange face finish for ASME B16.5 RF flanges is 125–250 microns.
Before using raw materials to make our products, our company conducts a number of tests to determine their effectiveness. Once this test report is satisfactory, we cut our raw material to size and apply heat treatment. Then we machine our product, perform a final inspection, apply forging treatments, and heat treat it once more before putting it on the market. The best product with the best finishing in our firm is the Blind Flange, often known as the BLRF Flange.

1. The Stock Flange Finish.
The Stock Flange Finish is a continuous groove created by utilizing a 1/16" radius round nosed tool with a feed rate of 1/32" per revolution.
This is the Standard Flange Finish unless the purchaser specifies different.
2. Spiral Serrated Finish.
The Spiral Serrated Finish is a continuous groove similar to the conventional stock finish, with the groove created using a 90° included angle "V" tool. The groove is 1/64" deep with a 1/32" feed for all sizes.
3. Concentric Serrated Finish
As the name implies, this surface finish is composed of concentric grooves. Using a 90° included angle "V" tool, the grooves are 1/64" deep and 1/32" apart.
4. The Smooth Finish.
The Smooth Finish can be achieved using a variety of shaped instruments. This finish has no apparent serrations and is rated 63-125 AA. Previously, this finish was referred to as "Smooth Plane." However, this word should be avoided since it is easily mistaken with "flat faced," which refers to the flange facing rather than the gasket surface finish.
5. The Cold Water Finish.
The Cold Water Finish is created by running a wide tool at high speeds; it has a mirror-like look and is typically used without a gasket with a 32-62 AA.
Also, according ANSI/ASME B46.1, the gasket face of Pipe Flanges must be assessed visually in comparison to Ra Standards rather than using devices with a Stylus Tracer or Electronic Amplification.

Every Standards have clearly requirements for steel flanges’ marking style, usually the marking words include seller’s Logo, buyer’s Logo (OEM), standard number, flange’s type, flange’s pressure, flange’s size, flange’s material, place of origin, heat number and other words for convenient to trace. If the flanges repaired by welding, it must mark on flanges showing this flange repared by welding. If the flange’s dimensions (OD, ID, PCD, Thickness, Holes number, Holes diameter, Tolerance etc) are different with the normal standard, it also must mark on flanges where it is different with normal ones. Another important place is heat number marking, it is the tracing base for every piece flange, and from the heat number we can trace to the beginning of raw material import.
Carbon Steel Flange Facing Type & Finish and Stainless Steel Socket Weld Flanges are delivered with or without surface protection, as determined by the manufacturer.
The company delivers Flange Facing Type & Finish in standard packaging, without surface protection or end protectors (caps). Special packaging, protective covers, and end protectors (caps) can be agreed upon.
